“PREPARING FOR THE FINAL”

As you prepare for your final exams, remember that your preparations are exercises in time management.

final times:

• The MWF final exam will be 8-10 AM on December 10.
• The TR final exam will be 8-10 AM on December 11.

In pursuit of the best possible course grade the most important thing to do is take the third term exam and the third essay exam, along with the mandatory required comprehensive essay exam.

The final exam will consist of:

• the third term exam

• the third essay exam

• the comprehensive essay exam

The third term and essay exams cover the period from 1824 through 1877.

In preparation for the third term and essay exams please

• review chapters 10-15 in Foner
• be ready to write paragraphs explaining and briefly stating the significance of all the asterisked terms in the third set of term sheets, from “Jacksonian America” through “Reconstruction”
• be ready to write multi-paragraph essays in response to at least 4 of the 5 questions on the set of third essay exam questions

In preparation for the comprehensive essay exam please

• review chapters 1-15 in Foner
• be ready to write multi-paragraph essays in response to at least 4 of the 5 questions on the set of comprehensive essay exam questions.
