Cleveland State Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award associate degrees.
The College was reaffirmed for regional accreditation by the Commission at the December 2004 meeting of the delegate assembly, following Off-site Review in October 2003 and On-site Review in March 2004.
As a member of the first class to seek reaffirmation of accreditation under revised Commission guidelines, Cleveland State Community College organized an intensive, institution-wide effort, involving all college units through the Leadership Team and numerous supporting Task Groups.
Focus upon student learning is a major component of reaffirmation under revised Commission Principles. Cleveland State Community College presented a five-year plan to improve student learning (2004-09) pursuant to the requirement for a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), subsequently accepted by the Commission. The topic for the Cleveland State Community College QEP is “Student Involvement: A Key to Learning.” The College maintains a standing Quality Enhancement Committee to guide the institution in the progression of the study.
