Mission Statement
The mission of the Center of Instructional Technology is to provide
timely and appropriate information on the development, application,
and maintenance of the most modern technology systems that directly
enhance education and increase learning potential. The CIT is dedicated
to training the faculty and staff of Cleveland State Community College
so that they are up to date on the most modern teaching technologies.
The mission of the CIT closely follows to the mission of Cleveland
State Community College.
Major CIT Goals:
- Working with the department chairs, deans and administrators
to train faculty to use: FrontPage, Camtasia, PowerPoint, Steaming
Media, WebCT and others.
- Establish and conduct a peer review process to assess each new
course and existing Web Courses prior to implementation and review.
- Provide the administrative support for the college website and
to train at least two staff/faculty members from each unit to keep
information current/update on each department's website.
- Provide technical support/guidelines for the use of videoconferencing
equipment and facilities to deliver classes on the main campus,
in Vonore and Athens.
- Establish guidelines and tools to review and monitor the student
satisfaction for distance learning and online courses.
- Work with college administrators to establish guidelines for
distance learning and online courses retention rate for the SACS
and to enhance our teaching strategies.
- Represent the TBR distance learning committee, and the Regents
Online Degree Program.
