The mission of the Humanities Department is to support faculty and staff efforts to develop professionally and to meet students’ needs in fulfilling the general education requirements, especially in reference to communication and critical thinking.

Department Goals

To increase student proficiency in written and oral communication skills (GE # 2; to help students develop an appreciation of literature and the fine arts (GE #5); to improve students’ ability to think and read critically (GE #3).
