Overview of Counseling & Support Services

The Counseling & Career Services Center, located in the Student Center Building room 118 (phone 423 478-6217), provides programs and services that promote student academic success and enhance personal development with an emphasis on facilitating student enrollment, retention/progression, and graduation.  Services include:  

Career Planning & Placement:  Choosing a major, help with career decisions, resume & interviewing assistance, career & transfer fairs, job search assistance & online job board.

Counseling:  Assistance in resolving personal issues to improve student success, referrals to community resources, mental health information, sexual assault prevention & referrals.

Adult Student Services:  Outreach to prospective adult students and applicants, help with identifying financial resources, childcare options and other services, Tennessee Reconnect information, Adult Student Organization, WIOA information, retention initiatives.

Disability Services:  Special needs counseling, eligibility determination of reasonable accommodations, assistive technology.

Hispanic/Latino Support Services:  Support for Hispanic/Latino students experiencing transitional issues or other concerns that present barriers to student success.  Communication in the form of emails and newsletters and activities such as Hispanic Heritage Day are provided.

Testing Services:  College placement & graduation exams, course-related academic testing, Pearson VUE Testing Center, HiSET testing, CLEP testing, MOS certification testing.

Veterans Services:  Individualized assistance in accessing VA Educational Benefits, School Certifying Offical responsible for enrollment verification.
