TN Promise is a Great Opportunity!

Cleveland State Community College does not want you to miss out on this great opportunity! For the first time in history, the State of Tennessee has agreed and passed into law, the ability for any high school graduate to go to any community college or Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) in the state, at no cost to you! This means that the State will make up the difference in your tuition and fees if your financial aid does not cover the whole cost.

Who Can Participate?

The Tennessee Promise is an opportunity for all graduating high school seniors–regardless of how much money you do or don’t make, or your academic performance– to obtain a TCAT certificate, diploma, or associate’s degree free of tuition and fees.

How Do Students Maintain the Scholarship?

  1. Continuous enrollment in a college or TCAT as full-time (12 hours or more) for up to five consecutive semesters
  2. Maintain a 2.0 grade-point average
  3. Continue to work with mentor
  4. Complete eight hours of community service per semester

How is the Program Administered?

tnAchieves will be the program administrator for TN Promise in Bradley, Polk, Meigs, McMinn and Monroe counties. For more information about tnAchieves, go to https://tnachieves.org

The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) has been designated as the organization that will establish deadlines and procedures. If you meet all of the requirements, TSAC will send the scholarship funds directly to the college you choose on your behalf.
