Cougars Moving on to Four Year Schools

Scott Spears

Right Handed Pitcher

Somerset, KY

Murray State University

Scott came to us from Somerset, Ky and had an outstanding two years.  His first year Scott was primarily a reliever and went 5-0.  As a sophomore Spears converted to a starter and earned himself a scholarship to Murray State University.  Cleveland State wishes Scott the best in his career..

Trevor Burgess

Right Field

Sequatchie, TN

Lee University

Trevor spent a great amount of time at Cleveland State as he was an outstanding hitter and outfielder. Burgess was a good team player and really made a lot of progressions in his 3 years with us.  Trevor will be close by at Lee University where his academic and athletic career should be very successful.

Gray Hutchinson

Third Base

Sugar Valley, GA

David Lipscomb University

Gray was an incredible, hard nosed player at third which is exactly the guy you need over there.  Gray had great hands and an even calmer demeanor that allows him to be successful on the field.  Hutchinson is an intelligent player on and off the field and Lipscomb is getting way more than they thought they were with Gray.

Cameron Brewster

Outfield

Cleveland, TN

Lee University

Cameron will be joining teammates Burgess and Brandon Rader at Lee University next year.  Cameron was a one year player for the Cougars as an injury set him back his freshman season.  Lee University will be getting an extrememly hard worker with good tools in all areas.  Cameron will be missed, but will definitely be successful at the next level academically and athletically..

Brandon Rader

Infield

Cleveland, TN

Lee University

Rader will be joining teammates Burgess and Brewster at Lee University in the fall.  Brandon was a utility player for the Cougars his first season and was a mainstay at second base his sophomore season.  Brandon adapted well to his many roles and his contributions were counted on each game.  Lee University will be getting an intelligent player that is growing into his game. .

Galen Smith

Catcher

Valdosta, GA

West Georgia University

Galen was a transfer player and only had one year as a Cougar, but he made the most of it being the number one catcher and a middle of the order hitter.  Galen is blessed with an unbelievable arm and is really starting to work himself into being a good catcher.  Smith is a very good student and will be a real asset for West Georgia.
