Award Notification
Your electronic award notification certifies that you are planning to attend Cleveland State Community College. If after reviewing the award notification, you decide NOT to attend CSCC, it is necessary for you to notify the Admissions/Records and Financial Aid Offices in writing. In addition, if your classes are not dropped in a timely manner, you may be liable for a portion of your tuition and fees. If you fail to attend all classes or withdraw from classes, you may owe a repayment to the Department of Education.
Payment and Credit Balance Checks
Your Federal Pell Grant, SEOG, Direct Loan, Tennessee Student Assistance Award and/or Lottery Scholarship will be credited toward your tuition and fees. If your financial aid has not been processed or is not enough to cover tuition and fees, then it is your responsibility to pay the balance by the payment deadline date. Your classes will be canceled if you do not complete the payment process with the Business Office by the payment deadline date at close of business. Please see How/When to Pay posted by the Business Office.
Financial aid credit balance checks for Spring 2012 will be mailed from the Business Office beginning January 30, 2012. First-time students/first-time borrowers must wait 30 days from the beginning of the semester for their credit balance checks. Lottery Scholarship credit balance checks will be mailed after September 26, 2011, for Fall 2011, and February 13, 2012, for Spring 2012.
Books
Books are purchased through the college bookstore at the beginning of each semester. The cost of books is approximately $900 per year. Students who have funds available from Pell and/or Stafford loans and who have completed the Title IV Authorization may receive a bookstore book voucher not to exceed $800. Vouchers are available January 3 through January 24, 2012 for the Spring 2012 semester. Students in Regents online classes should visit the ROCC website.
Federal Work Study
Students must submit a complete and signed (by student and supervisor) Federal Work Study Time Sheet to the Financial Aid Office in a sealed envelope by the 15th of each month in order to be paid on the last day of each month.
Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards
In order to remain eligible for financial aid, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards. These standards are also available in the catalog or in the Financial Aid Office.
NOTE: Any hold on your account will cause a delay in processing of aid. Attendance must be verified in ALL classes before Pell Grant and Loan credit balance checks may be released. Additional Consumer Information for Cleveland State Community College can be found here. |
