The incumbent leads, coordinates and supervises all of the personnel, activities and programs for the Division of Science and Mathematics.

  • Recruit, evaluate, and recommend full-time and part-time faculty and staff.  Provide assignments, supervision, development, and evaluation of faculty and staff.
  • Promote best practices in pedagogy and instructional technology.
  • Supervise, develop, and adjust curriculum.
  • Develop semester and summer class schedules.
  • Participate in college, division, or department accreditations, program reviews, and academic audits.
  • Facilitate equivalency transfer and articulation efforts with other institutions of higher education.
  • Teach appropriate classes (A minimum of one per year)
  • Prioritize, recommend, and supervise the budget.
  • Assign and monitor instructional facilities.  Supervise equipment inventory as appropriate.
  • Take leadership in pursuing grants and outside funding for the division.
  • Establish and maintain professional contact with community, educational, business, industry, and service entities as appropriate for the academic unit.  Serve on community committees and taskforce as related to the division objectives.
  • Assist in student recruitment, retention, and advisement efforts.
  • Assist in orientation of new students.
  • Assist with the college student evaluation and other surveys.
  • In cooperation with the Director of Admissions and Records, assist in all registration processes.
  • Maintain relations with division and department community advisory panels.
  • Represent division on college committees as needed.
  • Collaborate with the department of Training and Continuing Education.
  • Represent Academic Affairs as requested in the absence of the VP for Academic Affairs.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

SALARY RANGE:          $60,456 - $75,588

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  An earned doctorate in a science or mathematics field from a regionally accredited university plus five years related experience.
