- Performs and supervises the performance of planting, cultivating and harvesting trees, shrubs, and ornamental flowering plants on the campus.
- Performs maintenance duties to manual and mechanical equipment.
- Performs and supervises others performing special projects such as germination, propagating, seeding, budding, grafting, and layering.
- Operates various equipment in the performance of duties such as tractor, trucks, and lawn mowers.
- Determines proper insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides used in controlling insects, diseases, and unwanted plant growth.
- Performs related work as required.
SALARY RANGE: $23,952 - $29,940
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree in horticulture or related field, possession of a valid Tennessee operator’s license as issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety, and progressively responsible experience as a nursery and/or greenhouse worker are required. Certification as Commercial Pesticide Applicator required or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
