FOCUSING ON ISSUES AND SPECIAL CONCERNS OF MINORITY STUDENTS AND STUDENTS OF ETHNIC HERITAGE The MSA organization was founded in 1997. In an effort to progress from the more separatist views of the past to a more cosmopolitan perspective on the role of minorities, club members, in a majority vote, decided to change its name from “Black Student Association” to its current club name. This club is not an exclusive one. It is open to all students who are interested in promoting campus diversity, dealing with topics of special concern to black and other minority students, and heightening awareness of not only our various racial and cultural uniquenesses, but our similarities as well.
MSA meetings are held at least monthly throughout the academic semesters. Students who are interested are encouraged to fill out an information form and actively participate. The club requests that members give a $15.00 annual club fee which goes toward defraying the costs of refreshments for meetings, courtesy cards and club-sponsored cultural activities. MSA constitution and bi-laws are handed out to each member during the first meeting. If a member needs an additional copy, I will have them in my office. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact Natalia Williams at 472-7141 or 1-800-604-2722 ext. 318 or email nwilliams@clevelandstatecc.edu
