Testing Services - ACT

If you have applied to Cleveland State and the Admissions & Records Office has determined that you need to take the ACT test, you will be sent an ACT Residual Testing Ticket. You are encouraged to take the National ACT Assessment test and submit those scores. However, if you have missed those test dates, you are welcome to take Cleveland State’s ACT Residual exam if you are planning to attend Cleveland State. The Residual ACT is just like the National ACT except that Residual ACT results are reported only to Cleveland State and you may not qualify for specific scholarships requiring the National ACT. Additional Score Reports cannot be generated to report scores to any other college.
As indicated on the testing ticket, students may call the Student Development & Testing "ACCESS Center" Office to find out the upcoming test dates and current cost of the test. You can also see a list of testing dates by clicking on Standardized test dates.
You must pay the testing fee at the Business Office prior to coming to the testing center. Bring your receipt and a photo ID with you when you come to take your test. You are welcome to bring your own calculator (subject to ACT guidelines) for use on the Math portion of the test.
For more information on the ACT Assessment, visit the ACT web site. This site includes information on topics such as what subjects the test covers, how to prepare for the exam, how to register for the National ACT, and offers sample questions.
