Second Annual Peak Performance Symposium Scheduled for Sept. 15-16

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Cleveland State Community College and Lee University have once again joined forces to create a two-day professional development symposium that will allow attendees the opportunity to learn from some of the key leaders of industries in the region. This conference is called Peak Performance: A Business Excellence Symposium as they have secured presenters who will provide information that is sure to increase productivity, job satisfaction and success. Peak Performance will take place Thursday, September 15th and Friday, September 16th in the George R. Johnson Cultural Heritage Center located at Cleveland State Community College.
Dr. Chuck Carringer who is John Maxwell certified, a Trainer, an executive coach and a speaker will deliver the keynote address. Carringer has over thirty years of leadership experience and has coached leaders in a variety of industries and organizations. He is looking forward to helping attendees spend time learning and embracing principles that will lead to cultural change. Breakout sessions on Thursday, September 15th and Friday, September 16th include, but are not limited to: succession planning, leadership development, Lean LMS solutions, training & development, how to handle the new overtime law, pay for performance, social media in the workplace, behavior based safety and the value of internships. Presenters this year are key leaders at Volkswagen Group of America, Bayer, Pt. Ergonomics & Therapy Associates, Hope 80/20, Social Joey, Lean Ed, Wacker Polysilicon North America, Denso Manufacturing, University of Tennessee College of Business, Squire Strategies, Lee University and Cleveland State.
The day begins on Thursday at 8 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m., Friday, the symposium begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 1:30 p.m. There is an optional plant tour for the first 20 participants to sign up that will run 2-3:30 p.m.
“For companies to remain competitive in a global market place, it's essential to sharpen skills and remain updated on changing developments in the workplace,” stated Rick Creasy, Executive Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education. “CSCC and Lee University are partnering together for our second annual Peak Performance Summit to bring together leaders in areas of succession planning, LEAN, Leadership Development, training, and other relevant topics. This will be a training summit you will not want to miss.”
According to Alyssa Douglass, Workforce Development Project Coordinator at Cleveland State, “This is an excellent opportunity for regional industry and business professionals to learn and share current trends and best practices with one another. We are excited about our second year of offering this conference and hope our attendees will appreciate the changes made to accommodate feedback received last year.”
Dr. Guy DeLoach, Associate Professor of Business at Lee University and member of the Peak Performance Planning Team wants to make it clear that this two-day symposium will be packed with information that will benefit plant and business managers, Human Resources personnel, engineers, chief executive officers, training personnel and small business owners.
DeLoach stated, “Our presenters have been thoughtful about making sure that there is information that can be used at any business or industry.”
