July 12, 2017 — Cleveland State Community College recently received the Veterans Reconnect Grant valued at approximately $80,000 to serve veterans and service members and help them earn postsecondary degrees as part of Governor Haslam’s Drive to 55 initiative. July 07, 2017 — The Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has named Dr. Megen Saez at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, TN to the Board of Examiners for the 2017 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The Baldrige Award is the nation’s highest honor for organizational innovation and performance excellence. Appointed by the NIST Director, examiners are responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications submitted for the Baldrige Award, as well as other assessment-related tasks. The examiner board is composed of more than 340 leading experts competitively selected from industry, professional, trade, education, health care and nonprofit (including government) organizations from across the United States. July 06, 2017 — Cleveland State Community College recently named its third class of Presidential Honors Scholarships. The Presidential Honors Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for the top high school graduates who attend CSCC. Students must be accepted into the CSCC Honors Program and will also participate in a Presidential Leadership Program. The Presidential Honors Scholarship is designed to assist students with books and other educational expenses, such as non-mandatory fees. July 06, 2017 — Three individuals were recognized for their dedication and hard work at Cleveland State Community College’s spring Commencement Ceremony. Haley Hodgson was selected as the 2017 Distinguished Graduate. Dr. Robert Brandon was selected as the Distinguished Staff Member and Dr. Victoria Bryan was selected as the Distinguished Faculty Member.
