Scholarship Deadline Approaching at Cleveland State

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Cleveland State Community College has a variety of scholarships available to both current and prospective students, traditional and non-traditional, but the deadline to apply for these is approaching soon!

High school seniors are eligible to apply for the following scholarships by January 15:

Presidential Honors Program Scholarship: This is a scholarship for seniors who excel academically. Students will receive a $2000 annual scholarship. This requires a minimum 3.5 grade point average (G.P.A.) and a 25 composite ACT score. The deadline to apply is Jan. 15.

Principal’s Scholarship: This scholarship requires a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. and a 19 composite ACT score. High school seniors are chosen in consultation with their high school principal. This $1,500 annual scholarship requires recipients to complete 75 hours of serve to the college each semester and enroll in at least 15 credit hours. The deadline to apply is Jan. 15.

Alexandra Paladian, Presidential Honors Scholarship Recipient, said, “I am deeply honored to receive this scholarship. Not only did this scholarship open a door towards the honors program on campus (which I did not even know about when I applied for the scholarship), but it also helped in numerous ways.”

Paladian continued, “This scholarship helped me cover the cost of books, which was great because they are expensive. Also, some students from the honors program travel to various honors conferences…This has been a wonderful experience, which challenged me in many ways. Yes, you get money for books and travel expenses, but you also get the ultimate college experience. You don't just go to class; you interact with a group of individuals who share the same passion for learning and achieving their big dreams. The number of bonds you make with the people in the honors program is innumerable. This scholarship is worth it!”
