CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Cleveland State Community College is launching a new shuttle service, the Cougar Coach Shuttle, for students traveling from Meigs and McMinn Counties to the main campus in Cleveland.

The pilot programs will kick off Monday, August 26, the first day of the fall semester. The hope is this service will catch on and provide access to a wider community. The shuttle service is offered at no charge.

“Neighbors in our more rural areas of our service area tell us transportation and the cost of transportation are significant roadblocks to attending college for many,” stated Dr. Bill Seymour, President of Cleveland State Community College. “By going to where they live and enhancing access, we are furthering our commitment to Tennessee’s Drive to 55 goal.”

Alisha Fox, Vice President for Finance and Operations, said, “We are so excited to kick off this pilot program to increase accessibility to our campus for more residents in our community. The Cougar Coach shuttle is free to all current students and potential students as well as those who are interested in enrolling. Many people mention transportation challenges as a barrier to furthering their education, so we hope that this program will be able to alleviate that to some degree.”

Look for social media posts and other promos including directional signage at the route locations.
