    CLEVELAND, TN. - Cleveland State Community College will be hosting the 8th annual Multicultural Fair on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium. The fair is designed to celebrate different cultures living in Bradley County. Admission to the fair is free, and the community is invited to attend this event.

  • Cleveland State Expands Testing Offerings

    CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The testing center at Cleveland State Community College now offers multiple testing programs to students and community members and has expanded offerings in Athens.
      According to Judy Nye, Director of CSCC Testing Center, Cleveland State is now an Authorized Pearson VUE Test Center. “This is a huge asset to our community, as well as our students, stated Nye. “We have been testing in Cleveland a couple of years now and have recently met requirements to authorize our testing center at our Athens location.

    When Bill Seymour took over as president of Tennessee’s Cleveland State Community College, in 2014, he found a campus on warning from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) for deficiencies in the college’s institutional effectiveness. While it had participated in a regional strategic plan for years, the college hadn’t engaged in such a plan internally for a while. And the college was slow to adopt reforms that would serve its students, community and economy for the next 47 years.

While some community colleges have elected to remove the word “community” from their name, we at Cleveland State could not be more committed to our middle name. The fact that we are a community college is what makes us special.  In fact, it is our mission to serve you – the community – not just some, but the whole community. To make the point even further, here are my top five reasons why “community” is and always shall be our middle name.

  • CSCC Cancels Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration

    CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Cleveland State Community College had to cancel its annual Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss celebration on Saturday, March 7. The event, sponsored by the Early Childhood Education program and the CSCC Library, is organized by students in the language and literacy development class.
