Academic Programs & Student Support

For information about degree and certificate programs offered through Cleveland State please visit clevelandstatecc.edu.

Sharroan Stewart, Monroe County Coordinator, is available to assist current and prospective students with applications, registration, financial aid, and general questions typically on Monday – Friday from 9:00AM – 3:00PM. The Monroe County Center also has a computer lab, internet, and printer available for student use. Community Classes

Throughout the year, Cleveland State Community College Foundation offers special interest classes to the community at the Monroe Campus location. Classes may include cookie decorating, photography, yoga, or others. Check out the Community Classes page to see what classes and activities we have coming up and to register.

Workforce Bootcamps

Cleveland State’s Workforce program provides short-term trainings leading to certificates in high demand fields. The goal of these bootcamps is to increase opportunities for people to become employed in well-paying careers. Bootcamps offered in Monroe throughout the year include Construction, HVAC, and Phlebotomy. There is also an Industrial Painting bootcamp offered in nearby Athens. Check out the Workforce Trainings page for the dates of the next programs. Financial assistance is available for those who meet the qualifications.

Online Classes

There are several medical field training programs and other classes offered fully online through Cleveland State’s Workforce department.

Medical field certification programs include medical billing & coding, Cisco Network Associate, and Ethical Hacker. Financial assistance is available for those who meet the qualifications. Upon completion of these programs students earn a certificate which increases their opportunities and employability in high demand fields. Adult Education

Adult Education classes are taught in-person at the Monroe County Center on Wednesdays from 9:00AM – 12:00PM. Virtual class options are also available. If you want to earn your High School Equivalency Diploma or just improve your skills in reading, writing, or math, please contact Sherry Cook, scook15@clevelandstatecc.edu or 423-473-2479, to learn more about the Adult Education program and get enrolled. Small Business Development Center

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides one-on-one assistance to both startups as well as existing businesses. Services include, but are not limited to: business plan development, loan package development, capital sourcing, branding and marketing assistance, social media strategy and plan development, growth planning, government contracting assistance, and success and exit planning.
