What is Art (Studio) Emphasis: General Transfer?


The Art Studio emphasis is designed to prepare students for transfer to a bachelor’s degree granting institution to study Art. This program prepares students for more advanced study in a pathway through which students can pursue careers in the visual arts.

Program Outcomes

  • Analyze significant primary texts and works of art, ancient, pre-modern, and modern, as forms of culture and creative expression.
  • Explain the ways in which humanistic and/or artistic expression throughout the ages expresses the culture and values of its time and place.
  • Explore global/cultural diversity.
  • Frame a comparative context through which they can critically assess the ideas, forces, and values that have created the modern world.
  • Recognize the ways in which both change and continuity have affected human history.
  • Practice the critical and analytical methodologies of the Humanities and/or Fine Arts.

What Are My Options to Pay for This Degree?

Apply for financial aid at A student is encouraged to apply early for financial aid and must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the FAFSA Renewal Application as soon as possible after October 1 to ensure that the Financial Aid Office receives the Institutional Student Information Record and other documents prior to the priority deadline. July 1st is the priority deadline for applying for the fall semester and December 1st for the spring semester.
