What is Civil Engineering Emphasis A.S. TTP?
EXPECTED HOURS FOR A.S. DEGREE: 69
The Civil Engineering emphasis is designed to prepare students for transfer to a bachelor’s degree granting institution.  This program is designed to create a smooth transition for students to continue their education to earn a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
What can I do with this degree?
Civil Engineering is a broad range of study that can lead to careers in a variety of engineering disciplines, including: Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Construction Engineering to name a few.
- Environmental Engineers: perform engineering duties to resolve, or improve environmental conditions (hazards, water, pollution control, etc.)
- Structural Engineers: design and analyze structures to ensure anticipated loading requirements are met by buildings, bridges, tunnels, etc.
- Construction Engineers: plan and implement the processes to prepare sites for structures and the building of the structures.
Program Outcomes
All students who complete a degree designated as a Tennessee Transfer Pathway will be able to do the following:
- Apply mathematics, science, and engineering knowledge.
- Understand, analyze, and interpret data.
- Identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
- Understand professional and ethical responsibility.
- Communicate ideas effectively.
- Use the techniques, skill, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
TN Promise Scholarship
TN Promise is both a scholarship and mentoring program.
