What is Medical Informatics?

Medical Informatics is the interdisciplinary study of the design, development, adoption and application of IT-based innovations in healthcare services delivery, management and planning. This program will provide a pathway for students who are interested in a career in Medical Informatics as either a technician or developer. 

 

What will I learn?

Students upon completion of this program will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively.
  2. Apply problem solving skills through the execution of computer concepts.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and body systems.

What are my options to pay for this degree?

  • Apply for financial aid at www.FAFSA.gov
  • A student is encouraged to apply early for financial aid. He/she must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the FAFSA Renewal Application as soon as possible after October 1 to ensure that the Financial Aid Office receives the Institutional Student Information Record and other documents prior to the priority deadline. July 1st is the priority deadline for applying for the fall semester and December 1st for the spring semester.
