Cleveland State’s off-campus center in Athens provides students who live and/or work in and around McMinn, Meigs, and Monroe counties with a convenient location to take classes, conduct college business, and access various student services. More specifically, the McMinn Higher Education Center offers the full range of developmental studies courses and most of the general education and core courses required in the College’s certificate and degree programs. Additionally, 14 degree or certificate concentrations can be completed in full on location at MHEC in Athens while 18 other concentrations can nearly be completed in full with only 1-3 classes completed online, in-person at the main campus, or a combination of both.

This site also provides students with the opportunity to discuss certificate and degree requirements, apply for admission, obtain information on financial aid, submit documents related to admissions and financial aid, register for classes, pay tuition and fees, obtain a student ID, access library resources and devices, pick-up or return bookstore materials, utilize quiet study spaces, take exams in the testing center, participate in extracurricular activities and organizations, and seek assistance and sound advice for academic success including tutoring, disability services, counseling, and disability services.
