Cleveland State Announces 2016 Athletic Hall of Fame Class

CLEVELAND, TN. - The Cleveland State Athletic Office announces its 2016 Hall of Fame Class to be inducted on Saturday, February 20 with a brunch beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Cleveland Country Club. The brunch will precede the Cleveland State women’s and men’s basketball games vs. Dyersburg State beginning at 2 p.m.
All inductees will be recognized between the women’s and men’s basketball games.
The 2016 Hall of Fame Class of 11 inductees will represent the sports of men’s and women’s basketball, women’s softball, baseball, golf and tennis, coaches and administrators, as well as recognize meritorious service to Cleveland State Athletics.
Athletes being inducted are Jerry Steadman and Ricky Crutcher representing men’s basketball; Debra Shipley Hill and Neasy Barrett Fitzgerald representing women’s basketball; Deidra Baird representing softball; Scott Moreland representing tennis; Stan Sherlin representing golf; Michael Jordan and Darryl Oliver representing baseball; Jason Sewell who served as both a Baseball and Golf Coach, as well as Richard Murray who will be recognized for his meritorious service for giving significant time and service to Cleveland State Athletics.
Athletic Director Mike Policastro, said, “We are excited to host our fourth Athletic Hall of Fame class as we celebrate 49 years of CSCC athletics and honor the individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in their collegiate and professional careers.”
