CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Music professors from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) are joining together to present the “Two Plus One” Concert on Friday, September 16 at 7 p.m. in the George R. Johnson Cultural Heritage Center Auditorium on the campus of Cleveland State Community College. This concert is sponsored by the Cleveland State Music Department as part of the ongoing celebration of the college’s 50th anniversary.
Dr. Christine Isley-Farmer from MTSU, and Dr. Rebecca Tate St. Goar, from UTC, soprano and mezzo-soprano, will join forces with Joseph Walker, piano, to present a duet recital.
Works by Purcell, Schumann, Brahms, Dvorak, Paladilhe, Delibes and Laitman
will be performed. They will also perform a new piece, composed for them
by Paul Osterfield (MTSU) called “Calm Waters,” with poetry by Dr.
