Cleveland State Announces Fifth Hall of Fame Class

CLEVELAND, TN. - The Cleveland State Athletic Office announces its fifth Hall of Fame Class to be inducted on Saturday, January 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cleveland Country Club. The induction ceremony will precede the Cleveland State women’s and men’s basketball games vs. Jackson State at 2 and 4 p.m. All inductees will be recognized between the women’s and men’s basketball games.
The class will represent Cleveland State Athletics from the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball, women’s softball, baseball, golf and tennis, as well as coaches.
Athletes being inducted are Brian Hartsell representing men’s basketball; Melinda Godfrey, women’s basketball; Michelle Lowery Sorrell representing softball; Hobert Brabson, tennis; Bubba Trammell and Greg Boles, baseball; and Ron Waters, golf. Roby Phillips served as the men’s basketball coach and is also being recognized.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to recognize our fifth Hall of Fame Class,” stated Athletic Director Mike Policastro. “These deserving athletes and coaches have been a part of Cleveland State Athletics’ rich history.”
