Chad Laxton – Welding Instructor in Blue Pants

September 29, 2023 — Chad Laxton grew up in Tuscumbia, Alabama, but the Ocoee River and wrestling brought him to Bradley County. In 2002, he became a history teacher and wrestling coach at Bradley Central High School (BCHS). Now, he combines his teaching and coaching experience as the welding instructor at Cleveland State. Tim Smith – From Electrician to Educator

September 15, 2023 — Working for more than 25 years as an electrician, Tim Smith changed his career path and started teaching at Cleveland High School in 2020 and soon joined Cleveland State’s Workforce Development as an instructor. Athens Firefighters Take Advanced EMT Class

New Online Workforce Development Classes

August 30, 2023 — Cleveland State Community College Workforce Development Department added two new online classes to their schedule. Medical Coding and Billing is available in the healthcare field, and the Certified Cisco Network Associate course offers an opportunity in information technology (IT). Engineering Club - Finalist in National Competition

August 25, 2023 — Students in the Cleveland State Community College Engineering Club were finalists in the Community College Innovation Challenge (CCIC) and traveled to Washington D.C. in June to participate in the national competition.
