Mary T. Barker Humanities Building Open After Renovations

September 16, 2021 — This fall semester, Cleveland State Community College students are able to experience the newly renovated Mary T. Barker Humanities Building. The Humanities renovation was part of the college’s revitalization project. The total project cost was $25 Million with $2.5 Million allocated from fundraising and $22.5 Million from state funding. Archer Chosen As the 2021 Community First Award Honoree for Volunteer Service

September 08, 2021 — As we continue to fight the COVID-19 virus, we've learned humility in helping others and using every resource to accommodate the community. Volunteering in the local neighborhoods has been considered part of the foundation to getting through the pandemic. Kenneth Archer didn't hesitate to offer his services to help the people of Monroe County. He used his healthcare skills to administer vaccines to the community in a time where volunteers were desperately needed and because of his gracious actions, Archer has been chosen as the 2021 Community First Award honoree for Volunteer Service. Katz and Boddeker Chosen as the 2021 Community First Awards for Philanthropy

September 07, 2021 — Local businesses are the staple to many communities in the Tennessee Valley. When the pandemic took over everyday life, small businesses were hit the hardest, facing a loss in revenue and some even shutting down. The economy made it hard for local businesses to thrive, but two local business owners took it into their own hands to make sure other businesses like theirs could have a fighting chance to make it through the pandemic. Brittany Katz and Andrea Boddeker are the 2021 Community First Award honorees for Philanthropy because of their initiative to help provide resources for other small businesses to grow. CSCC Students Save $1.7 Million Through the Digital Engagement Initiative

September 07, 2021 — Cleveland State Community College is helping students save money on coursework materials. Students now have the option to purchase online textbooks through the Digital Engagement Initiative (DEI). This initiative has saved students approximately $1.7 million since 2019. Jaggers Chosen as the 2021 Community First Award Honoree for Healthcare

August 30, 2021 — As a nation, we look back and realize all of those who are on the frontlines fighting to save others from COVID-19. Many of those people are nationally recognized doctors, nurses, and scientists. Cleveland State Community College wants to recognize the community healthcare workers who sacrificed so much to ensure the safety in their own neighborhoods. Dr. John S. Jaggers is one doctor in the Bradley County community that has sacrificed and served others during the pandemic to make sure the integrity of his community was not taken by the pandemic. For this reason and his dedication as a pulmonologist, Jaggers has been chosen as the 2021 Community First Awards Honoree for Healthcare.
