Fox Chosen As Community First Award Honoree for Education

August 16, 2021 — One of the hardest aspects of change people had to learn during the pandemic was social distancing. Like other community colleges and universities around the world, Cleveland State faced the challenge of giving students, faculty, and staff access to education and operational needs while maintaining a safe distance from each other. As the Vice President Finance and Chief Operating Officer, Alisha Fox accepted that challenge and made it her duty to restore efficiency and access for anyone connected with CSCC during the pandemic. 2021 Community First Award Honorees Selected

July 28, 2021 — The results are in! The 6th annual Community First Awards Committee received dozens of nominations seeking to honor individuals across five categories. Nominations were selected based on this year’s theme of putting the community first during a world-wide pandemic. There were a total of 10 honorees for the individual categories. Danny Lawson scholarship created at Cleveland State Community College

July 21, 2021 — As the Bradley County Commission approved a partnership with Cleveland State Community College to waive the cost for certain medical personnel to work toward being a paramedic, the commission also thanked the man who headed up the local ambulance service for several years for his service with these men and women. Vice President of Academic Affairs Changes Dynamics of Curriculum Throughout the Pandemic

July 14, 2021 — Since the spring of 2020, the world has had to adapt to the new changes the pandemic brought to our everyday lives. Cleveland State Community College was no exception and the challenge became giving current and prospective students access to classes and events on campus. Though nothing really prepared anyone for guiding a school through such an event, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Barsha Pickell, has helped strengthen the college’s online teachings, tutorials, and research while also developing safe and effective ways to be on campus while renovations took place. CSCC Focuses on Efforts for Equity and Inclusion

July 07, 2021 — Cleveland State Community College strives to be an institution that builds careers and communities for our surrounding counties, but it’s also a focus to implement a diverse and inclusive environment so that every student can thrive. In the college’s 2025 vision, strategic goals were put in place to support underrepresented students, specifically, African-American, Hispanic, and low-income students.
