Work-Based Learning Unlocks Opportunities for Students

November 27, 2023 — A medical office technology major, Larose Elve is already a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and works in home healthcare. She recently started her work-based learning internship at Kaful Family Practice in Cleveland. The work-based learning program gives students the opportunity for hands-on training in their career field, all while earning college credit. Inspiring Pianist Visits Cleveland State

November 17, 2023 — Cleveland State Foundation will host one of Britain’s most inspiring pianists on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024. Nicholas McCarthy was born without his right hand and rose above many obstacles to study at the Royal College of Music in London. Veterans Celebration

Three New Registered Apprenticeship Programs

November 13, 2023 — Cleveland State Community College Workforce Development Department announces three new Department of Labor (DOL) Registered Apprenticeship training programs with local industries. Whirlpool Corporation placed five employees in the Tool and Die Maker program. Mueller Corporation has two maintenance department employees in the Mechatronics Technician program, and Nokian Tyres has four maintenance department employees in the Mechatronics Technician program. November 08, 2023 — “I was raised in a family of love, and everything I remember had food around it,” shares Kezmond Pugh, culinary instructor for Cleveland State’s Workforce Development Department. “I remember being at my great grandmother’s house for Sunday dinners. Certified Nurse Assistant Class Graduation

October 31, 2023 — Cleveland State Community College recently hosted a graduation celebration for the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) class. Alumna’s Inspiring Journey in Social Work

October 19, 2023 — Working with child protective services, the juvenile justice system, orphaned children in South Africa, community health services and public education, Cleveland State alumna, Laura Vacheresse, has served her community and the world as a social worker! She discovered the diversity of the social work field writing a research paper during high school and took the first steps to her career at Cleveland State Community College. Cleveland State Completes Successful On-Site SACSCOC Visit

October 12, 2023 — Cleveland State Community College recently hosted an On-Site Reaffirmation Committee from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) as part of the college’s bid for reaffirmation. At the exit conference, the committee’s oral report gave no recommendations for improvement; the college is awaiting the committee’s final written report.
