What Does Your Educational
Pathway Look Like?

Our Tennessee Adult Education Vision is to educate every adult Tennessean with the literacy, numeracy, English language, and workforce preparedness skills they need to pursue further education and training, attain sustainable work, and help educate their children.

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce’s Adult Education Division has as its mission to provide basic education services to adults in Tennessee to help them improve their literacy, math, and English language skills.

Cleveland State Adult Education is proud to be a partner with Tennessee’s American Job Centers. It is a partnership that provides guidance for those who seek employment in the local workforce, or pursuing change in their present employment and a source for businesses to find skilled workers.
Adult Education, as part of the Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act (WIOA), provides services to adults to build the knowledge and skills necessary for high school equivalency (HiSET), employment, post-secondary opportunities, and economic self-sustainability.

The Cleveland State Adult Education program partners with the United Way of McMinn & Meigs Counties and many other entities that help with funding and classes.
