What is Entrepreneurship Concentration: Business A.A.S.?


The Entrepreneurship Concentration: Business, A.A.S. is for individuals who want the knowledge and skills to become an entrepreneur in today’s changing job market. The students will receive instruction in the areas of entrepreneurial planning, managing, marketing, accounting and supervising. This concentration will prepare students to enter the business environment as small business owners and managers.

This is an occupational program designed to equip students for employment. This program is not a transfer program, although many institutions accept all or part of the coursework toward the bachelor’s degree.

Program Outcomes

Upon completion of these programs, students will be able to do the following:

  • Describe the process of starting a small business, including the development of an effective business plan.
  • Discuss various financing options, risk management options, global opportunities, and exit strategies.
  • Describe the process of managing human resources and the key issues in managing the firm’s assets.

What Are My Options to Pay for This Degree?

Apply for financial aid at www.FAFSA.gov. A student is encouraged to apply early for financial aid and must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the FAFSA Renewal Application as soon as possible after October 1 to ensure that the Financial Aid Office receives the Institutional Student Information Record and other documents prior to the priority deadline. July 1st is the priority deadline for applying for the fall semester and December 1st for the spring semester.
