What is Surveying A.A.S.?

This concentration is designed for those students interested in working in the field of Surveying. This program incorporates the knowledge and skills needed to prepare the student for numerous job and career opportunities in their field.

This is a technical program designed to prepare students for employment. This program is not a transfer program, although many institutions accept all or part of the course work toward a bachelor’s degree.

What is Surveying Technician Certificate?

The Engineering Systems Technology, AAS: Surveying Concentration is designed to provide students with an effective blending of diverse surveying and geomatics skillsets through a variety of specializations, preparing program completers with the skills needed for immediate entrance into the workforce.

This certificate, embedded within the Surveying Concentration, is designed for those students interested in entering this field as a technician.

Program Outcomes

  • The graduate will have demonstrated an intermediate level of competency with computer applications common to modern industry, including 2-dimensional computer aided drafting software.
  • The graduate will have demonstrated a thorough understanding of industrial safety codes and practices necessary to function safely in an industrial environment.
  • The graduate will have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the various materials used to manufacture products, along with the various manufacturing processes used to convert these materials into finished goods.
  • The graduate will have demonstrated the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

What Are My Options to Pay for This Degree?

Apply for financial aid at www.FAFSA.gov. A student is encouraged to apply early for financial aid and must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the FAFSA Renewal Application as soon as possible after October 1 to ensure that the Financial Aid Office receives the Institutional Student Information Record and other documents prior to the priority deadline. July 1st is the priority deadline for applying for the fall semester and December 1st for the spring semester.
