Cleveland State Community College has expanded opportunities for dual enrollment students for the 2026-2027 academic year. The college is launching a pilot program designed to remove financial barriers for eligible 11th and 12th grade students pursuing college credit while completing high school.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, Cleveland State will cover all remaining tuition and mandatory fees for participating students after the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant and any applicable third-party scholarships are applied. In addition, the college will provide all required course materials and resources, including e-books and course-related fees.
This pilot program is open to all 11th and 12th grade high school students in the college’s five county service area of Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe and Polk counties who are enrolled in dual enrollment or Tennessee Valley Early College programs.
Dr. Willie Thomas, Vice President of Student Affairs, said, “This pilot program reflects Cleveland State’s intentional focus on expanding educational opportunities and strengthening connections with our local school systems. We want students to have access to college-level courses without financial burdens, helping them build momentum toward their future education and careers.”
The program will be evaluated throughout the academic year to determine potential continuation or modifications prior to the 2027-2028 year. Cleveland State prioritizes partnerships with area high schools by creating pathways that allow students to earn college credit, reduce the cost of higher education and accelerate progress toward certificates and degrees while still in high school.
