Tennessee’s Dual Enrollment Lottery Grant

To qualify for this grant, you must be a Tennessee citizen, a resident of the state for one year prior to enrollment, and you must initially meet dual-enrollment eligibility standards. For continued participation, a 2.0 cumulative college grade point average is required.

The Dual Enrollment Grant will pay toward 10 cumulative dual enrollment courses during a student’s junior and senior year. Below is a breakdown of how the grant will pay.

If you’re eligible and choose to use state lottery money, you’ll need to fill out the online application to qualify. If a student does not complete the Dual Enrollment Grant application, they assume responsibility for the full balance of the dual enrollment course(s).

How to apply for the Dual Enrollment Grant

1. Go to tn.gov/tsacstudentportal and click on TSAC Student Portal towards the top of the screen.
2. On this page, click Create a Log In ***WRITE DOWN YOUR LOGIN INFORMATION WHEN YOU ARE CREATING YOUR ACCOUNT***
3. After you have created your account, log back in with your username and password.
4. Select the APPLY button in the top left corner of the page.
5. Scroll down the page and select Dual Enrollment Grant for the applicable academic year (an academic year goes from August to July).
6. Only complete the required items and the college should be Cleveland State (this is where you are using your Dual Enrollment Grant).
7. Once you have completed the application, a page that says APPLICATION CONFIRMATION at the top of the screen should appear (click OK and do not print).
8. You will be directed to a screen that is titled Financial Summary. For the Dual Enrollment Grant, it should say Pending Verification or Eligible.

Cleveland State Foundation Dual Enrollment Scholarships

At Cleveland State Community College, we believe cost should never be a barrier to academic opportunity. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant and offer additional support through CSCC Foundation gap funding to help students continue earning college credit while in high school.

How Funding Works

• Courses 1–5: Covered in full by the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant.
• Courses 6–10: The Lottery Grant covers up to $100 per credit hour.
• CSCC Gap Funding: Covers the difference between the Lottery Grant amount and the actual tuition cost—ensuring that at least one course is fully covered each semester, even after initial grant funds are exhausted.

Example: Funding in Action

Enrolled in Classes #6 and #7

Each course is 3 credit hours

• Class #6:
  • $300 covered by the Lottery Grant
  • Remaining balance covered by CSCC Gap Funding
• Class #7:
  • $300 covered by the Lottery Grant
  • Any remaining balance is the student’s responsibility

Through this model, students and families can continue pursuing Dual Enrollment opportunities with confidence, knowing that CSCC is committed to making college more affordable.
