Cleveland State Community College Workforce Development will celebrate the grand opening of its new Mobile Training Lab on Monday, Sept. 28, 4-5:30 p.m. at the D. F. Adkisson Administration Building on the Cleveland campus.
The Mobile Training Lab will expand access to workforce training across Cleveland State’s five-county service area, bringing hands-on training opportunities to communities in Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe and Polk counties.
Purchased with Title III grant funding, the mobile lab is equipped to transport equipment for a variety of workforce programs, including HVAC, electrical wiring, plumbing, construction, phlebotomy and industrial sewing. The lab will allow Workforce Development to offer classes at off-campus locations, making it easier for individuals throughout the region to gain skills needed for employment and career advancement.
“The Mobile Training Lab reflects Cleveland State’s commitment to expanding access to education and workforce development throughout our region,” said Cate Green, Dean of Community and Workforce Education. “This initiative allows us to bring high-quality, hands-on training directly into the communities we serve, helping remove barriers to participation and better respond to local workforce needs.”
The community is invited to attend the grand opening on Sept. 28. The program begins at 4 p.m. followed by an opportunity to tour the Mobile Training Lab and learn more about the training opportunities it will provide throughout the region.
