September 29, 2023 — Chad Laxton grew up in Tuscumbia, Alabama, but the Ocoee River and wrestling brought him to Bradley County. In 2002, he became a history teacher and wrestling coach at Bradley Central High School (BCHS). Now, he combines his teaching and coaching experience as the welding instructor at Cleveland State. September 12, 2023 — Cleveland State freshmen, Mackenzie and Morgan Hill, are one of four sets of twins taking classes at the McMinn Higher Education Center (MHEC) in Athens. Graduating from McMinn County High School in May, the sisters earned 15 credits with dual enrollment classes before starting Cleveland State. August 25, 2023 — Students in the Cleveland State Community College Engineering Club were finalists in the Community College Innovation Challenge (CCIC) and traveled to Washington D.C. in June to participate in the national competition.
