All, Academics

In mid-July, the National Student Clearinghouse was one of many organizations, including higher education and financial groups, impacted by a data breach involving the MOVEit Transfer tool. Cleveland State Community College, along with many other educational institutions across the country, utilizes the National Student Clearinghouse to provide educational reporting, data exchange, verification and research services. Some of this shared data includes personally identifiable information.

Cleveland State Community College received notice that our data has potentially been compromised and is actively monitoring this situation. We are working with the National Student Clearinghouse to determine what data from Cleveland State, if any, has been compromised and to address any concerns that may arise. We remain committed to thoroughly assessing any potential impacts on students and alumni. This cyber security event did not impact Cleveland State’s network or internal systems.

The college will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as we receive more information from the Clearinghouse.
